Laura Bennet is an emerging artist living and working on the unceded lands of Naarm, Melbourne. In her current silk series, she immerses herself in a dialogue between fluidity and intention when making delicate markings onto the canvas.
Embracing the silk’s receptive nature, she layers and blends inks to evoke subtle, nuanced hues which allows the colours to organically merge and interplay. The pieces have harmonious tones that breathe and shift with the light which creates an ethereal and dream-like quality. These artworks are aimed to add a meditative element to the space and evoke a sense of tranquillity.
